Course Description

Home Staging 101 is a three hour introductory hands on training course held at Parker Staging studios.  In addition to a lecture and hand outs students experiment and test their learning with real  furniture, art and decor.  Individual and small group learning techniques are used, in addition to quizzes and overviews.

Students who complete this course successfully will be able to:

  • Identify different broad design styles

  • Understand the theory of staging vs interior design

  • Create basic vignettes for standard stagings

  • Understand basic furniture layouts

Students are divided into small groups to create their own designs for living rooms, and bedrooms.  They select and set up art and decor as they would during an actual staging. Students are also allowed to experiment on an individual basis with selecting and appropriately setting kitchen and bath. Vignettes. The course is intended to be interactive,  fun, educational and engaging. Students are encouraged to ask questions throughout and have index cards for recording questions to be asked at a later time.

Students are not graded and there is no final project.  However, at the end of each section there is a brief 4 question quiz.  Following each group design exercise, designs are reviewed and feedback is  provided. A Certificate of Participation is provided to attendee.
